California Engineering Contractors, Inc – Mare Island Bridge Project Starts

CEC has mobilized at the worksite at Mare Island for extensive maintenance and rehabilitation of the Mare Island Causeway Lift Bridge. Our work for the City of Vallejo consists of structural repairs and repainting of the lift span and towers, plus the replacement of deteriorated piles supporting the bridge. We will also repair or replace damaged concrete on the causeway and apply a polyester concrete overlay to the deck.
Other work items include replacing joint seals, replacing damaged sidewalk panels and repairing and repainting metal railings, repairs to the fenders and lighting, and providing traffic control throughout the approximately 18-month project.
